Robin Hertlein, Owner, has a degree in International Business Administration, special training in grant development, and over 25 years experience in grant writing as well as non-profit and governmental management. She has been awarded certification as a Grant Professional Certified (GPC), a nationally recognized credential affiliated with the Grant Professionals Association. As of May 2019 there were only 7 nationally certified grant professionals working in the state of Washington – two of them at Hertlein Grant Writing.
Robin worked in nonprofit agencies, universities and municipal governments as Executive Director, Administrator, and/or Finance Director prior to establishing an independent grant writing consulting business. She helped found the Whidbey Community Foundation, to support nonprofits in her local community. Robin’s experience provides the perfect combination of program knowledge, research ability, financial management, and writing skills to be successful in grant seeking for a variety of organizations.

Joshua Martin

Joshua Martin, Grant Writer, has been with Hertlein Grant Writing since 2010. He has written successful hundreds of successful grant applications for food banks, hospitals, housing programs, educational support, and a variety of social service projects. Josh was awarded certification as a Grant Professional Certified (GPC) in 2014.

Michael Hertlein
Michael Hertlein, Grant Writer, has a degree in International Business Administration, and currently works remotely from Turkey. He joined the firm in 2017, and has the ability to draft proposals in English, Dutch, or Turkish. Michael was awarded a scholarship from the Grant Professionals Association to attend their international conference in 2019.
